Unknown Facts Not Many Indians Know About PM Narendra Modi’s Security.

Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India is one of the most powerful leaders in the world. He became the Prime Minister and came into power in the year 2017 and it was a landslide victory. He not only defeated Congress party but also won with a massive and historic mandate.

Now being the most powerful person in India and one of the most powerful leaders in the world, he needs another level of security. Lately, there was news that India has obtained attack dogs and elite sniffer from Israel to add more to the security of our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. No doubt to the fact that these canines will more power to Namo’s protection game.

According to the reports, around 30 “bomb sniffers, chasers and attack dogs” were imported from Jerusalem over the last year.

Belgian Malinois dogs, German Shepherds, Labradors, and some rare breed which is supremely effective in combat, are included in these canines.

Although, there is no official confirmation on what exactly is the cost of these canines but the media of Israel estimates that each one is worth some tens of thousands of dollars.

In order to beef up the security of Narendra Modi, these advanced measures are been taken seeing the threat perception which has grown in the recent years.

Narendra Modi has become the first Indian PM to visit Israel and during his trip of three-days he along with his Israeli opposite number, Benjamin Netanyahu, have discussed cyber-securities & several militaries deals including a new, jointly built missile defence system & drone missiles. But still, it’s still not clear yet whether they had touched upon fanged fortification.

Because of issues surrounding the Prime Minister’s security not much details about these four-legged protectors was revealed. It has been kept as a closely guarded affair. According to the reports collected so far, these dogs are trained for bomb-sniffing & attack duties and are specifically designed to join the Special Protection Group tasked with the security of senior officials, former prime ministers, and members of their families.

A year after the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the SPG was set up in 1984. Drawn mostly from the Border Security Force and the Central Reserve Police Force, it has over 10,000 personnel.

Usually, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police train the SPG’s sniffer dogs. The paramilitary border force’s dog-training centre at Bhanu in Chandigarh is considered the best in the country. On average, the border force trains a batch of 24 SPG dogs every six months.The training period is normally of 24 weeks.

An official of ITBP said, “Israel is also helping us upgrade the dog-training centre.”

“During the training period, these dogs are given special food and kept in a hygienic environment. They are provided good facilities, including a swimming pool, and undergo regular medical check-ups,” the official added.

Some sources said that to upgrade all the military and paramilitary dog squads to the levels of the SPG’s canine units in 10 years, the PM’s Office had recently asked the defense ministry & the Union home ministry to formulate a common training programme. Apart from these four-legged protectors, the National Security Guard which is always shielding PM Modi makes sure no external power does harm to him.

Raised in 1984, NSG is an Indian special forces unit under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). NSG’s commandos are trained to combat terrorist activities with a view to protecting states against internal disturbances. These NSG commandos are called Black Cats as they’re dressed in black coloured drill cotton paired with the black cat insignia on their uniform comprising of a total personnel strength of 14,500. These commandos struggle through a vigorous training along with going through a series of endurance, target-shooting tests and martial arts, these Black Cat Commandos are pro at taking head shots, two at one go!

The commandos are equipped with FN F2000 assault rifles and other sophisticated armouries.

To contribute to swift mobility & vision, they wear special glasses and shoes.

In case of an unprecedented attack, their bulletproof vests ensure they can withstand fire.

Their armours are strong enough to withstand more than hundred rounds of fire.

Even their shoes are specially crafted to make sure they can withstand any type of terrain.
